Are your seats designed to meet safety regulations?
Yes, we design and test to many specifications. Consult the product information or reach out to us with specific questions.

Can seats be easily installed or moved?
Most seats are held in place with nuts and bolts or mounted to tracks. However, seats are often tested for compliance in certain locations within a specific vehicle. Please reach out to our tech support with specific questions. Always have the vehicle and seat information to improve the response.

What material cover options do I have for my School Bus Replacement covers?
Our OneBus aftermarket school bus covers typically come in 42oz non-fireblock and Fireblock.
Some Kevlar options and *52oz is available as a special order and may be subject to minimum purchases. Let us know your exact need.
COMMERICAL SEATING QUESTIONS

What are the specific requirements or considerations for installing seats in a van or bus?
There are many factors involved in properly installing a seat in any vehicle. The vehicle design, the seat location and other factors can influence a safe install. Please work with a dealer or with our customer service to see if we have a good option for your specific need.

What is the price range for seats, and does it vary based on configuration or quantity?
Many factors determine the price of a new seat, including the style, number of buckets and method of attachment to the vehicle. Check with a dealer in your area for specific prices.
What material cover options do I have for my Commercial Seating?
We offer a wide selection of commercial fabrics, styles, and colors for covers. See our website or inquire with your specific requirements.

Are the seats compatible with different van or bus models?
While we design and test to many different vehicles, we are not able to test all the vehicles and location options. We do bench test all our seats to the most common specifications.

What options can I have for my seats?
Our standard options include grab handles, arm rests, UCRA, tethers, head rests and specialty covers. Others are available. Let us know your exact requirements.

Can I request a sample of the cover material?
Yes, we will work with you to provide your sample. Let us know your specific interest.

How do I clean my vinyl seat?

Use a damp soft cloth, use only mild soap and water, and rinse with clean water.

Do not use harsh cleaning agents, these may damage vinyl and threads and distort the color of the cover.

While cleaning examine for cracks, tears, torn seams, areas of exposed foam. These are signs of wear and/or potentially damage. We recommend replacing the cover.

What is a stowaway seat and where is it used?
A stowaway seat, often called an ADA seat, is designed to fold up and be stored against the wall. This flexible solution allows the same space to used for seating, wheelchair, or storage as needed.
Do you provide marine seating?
Yes, marine seating is designed for use in wet or damp environments.
Do you provide driver’s seats?
Yes, we have several options for driver’s seats

How do I clean my vinyl seat?

How do I best clean my cloth seat?
There are many upholstery cleaners on the market. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions and always test a small area first to make sure the cleaner does not change the color or look of the fabric.​​
SCHOOL BUS SEAT QUESTIONS

Are replacement parts easily available for the seats?
Yes, please provide the seat module part number. It is located on the white label on the seat cushion frame. Also provide a description of the seat. Include photos of the label and the seat as an attachment. Photos are very helpful in getting the right product to you.
Are replacement covers made of the same materials as the OEM cover?
Yes, as a seat and cover supplier to the OEMs, we use the same top quality vinyl as used for the OEM.

Are the covers specifically designed for school bus seats?
Yes. The covers are designed to fit the OEM seat for your bus.

Can I choose from assorted colors or patterns for the replacement covers?
Yes, while we typically provide the common styles and colors of the OEM bus builders, special options are available. For instance, we can provide activity seat covers in your colors. Please let us know your exact requirement.
Are the covers easy to install myself, or do I need professional assistance?
Most people find them easy to install themselves. Check our website or reach out to us for further instruction if you experience any difficulty.

Can I order a custom-sized cover for unusual or non-standard bus seat configurations?
If a pattern is provided, we can usually produce to the pattern. Depending on the requirements, there may be a minimum order quantity. Let us know your details.

How long does it take to receive the replacement covers or foam after ordering?
Normal lead time is 3 weeks, subject to change with seasonality .

Yes, there is a 1-year limited warranty

Yes, they will match the form, fit, and function of the OEM covers.

Can I buy individual covers for specific damaged seats, or are they only sold in seats?
Covers are sold individually.

Does your replacement foam meet the new seamless top requirements of some states?
Our seamless foam does have a seamless top. State requirements for this type of foam is new. The number of states with this requirement is growing. Please contact us if you want to confirm for a specific state.

Can I buy my replacement parts direct from HSM?
HSM is a supplier to the OEMs. We normally work through our trusted dealer network for school bus seating components. We will be glad to refer you to one based on your needs. Feel free to reach out to us.​
